Sunset, Scotman's Flash Wigan 19:30pm 14°C

Its September again my favorite month of the year and you can see why. I love the skies at this time of year and I'm lucky enough to live close to Scotman's Flash where I regularly walk Brad and Holly. It was just another ordinary evening walking down one side of the two path before crossing over Moss Bridge to walk the remainder of the walk on the opposite side of the path.

I got chatting to a chap I know who has a 9 month old Westie boy called Zolo after his 10 year old Westie died suddenly last year. I've only ever seen the guy twice, I still don't know name but we gel as 'dog men' if that makes sense. On the occasions I've bumped into him he always remarks how Brad reminds him of his old Westie "I look up and its him" he says hiding his grief the best he can.

Zolo is handful at the moment but I know one day he'll turn my nameless mate's grief around.

My mate turned around and we said our 'see ya-s' before heading back to the estate while I walked towards the lake, I couldn't believe how the sunset was unfolding.

Scotman's Flash.
The sun had already gone down minutes earlier, these are those 'golden moments' of afterglow you get before it turns to dusk.

Scotman's Flash.
If you look at the waters surface you can see that it's started to rain.

Scotman's Flash.
The rain got heavier and the light intensified.

Just minutes left now.
Its amazing to think that half an hour earlier I'd set out as I do every evening to take Brad and Holly out. Last night we were on a different route, well because Brad wanted to go a different way and there was no way of persuading him otherwise. Tonight I talked him into a walk along the canal and past the lake because its September, the nights are starting to draw in and you never know what's going to happen.
